Edinburg Chamber Hosts Gingerbread Competition

gingerbread houseThe Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and CASA of Hidalgo County are currently hosting its inaugural Gingerbread CASA Competition. The organizations welcome citizens, the business community and professionals to participate in the event.

All submissions must be turned in to the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce Historic Depot at 602 W. University Drive by 4 p.m. Dec. 20. Winners of the competition will be announced and awarded on Dec. 21 at 3 p.m.

The top 3 submissions in each category will be available for viewing throughout the month of December at the Edinburg Chamber Historic Depot.

Entry Categories Include:

  • Edinburg Citizen
  • Professional Baker/Cooks
  • Business
  • Children (ages 15 and under)

All gingerbread houses must be 100 percent edible (display board can be ‘non-edible’). Houses may be either store bought or homemade. All entries must be no larger than 12×18 inches.

There is a $10 submission entry to participate in the event. All proceeds will go towards purchasing toys for children in the CASA of Hidalgo County program.
