Texas Cook’ Em: High Steaks makes its return July 4 in Edinburg, complete with vendors, live music, a children’s fun area and its state championship barbecue event. In 2019, Texas Cook’ Em drew 120 cooking teams from across the state with more than 3,000 citizens in attendance.

Texas Cook’Em is one of Texas’s biggest BBQ purse, awarding $16,000 to the winners. Competitors will battle it out on the grill to cook the best chicken, ribs, pork brisket and rib-eye for money and a year’s worth of bragging rights.

A performance by Def Leggend, a tribute to Def Leppard, will kick-off the free concert. At sunset, a fireworks display will commence, followed by the performance of American Country Award winner Easton Corbin.

VIP tables with premier viewing will be available for purchase by contacting the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce. The chamber encourages attendees in the general admissions area to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Texas Cook’ Em takes place at the Ebony Hills Golf Course, 300 W. Palm Drive. Gates will open at 9 a.m. for the day-long festivities.

Businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities should contact the chamber at 956-383-4974. The chamber will acknowledge sponsor businesses in publicity associated with the 15th Annual Texas Cook’Em throughout the duration of event promotion.
