McAllen Library Now Loaning Video Games

video gameThe McAllen Public Library is now allowing borrowers 17 years and older to take home video game titles for PS4, PS5, X-Box One, X-Box Series X and Nintendo Switch.

The new circulating games carry ratings of E–For Everyone and T–For Teens. Video game borrowers must reside in the City of McAllen and be 17 years or older. They must also have an MPL card and provide verification of a current address, and complete an agreement. Households may only check out one game at a time for a max of seven days.

Gaming at the library had been a popular program for teens and adults pre-COVID. The ability to borrow games will help to fill that gap.

A $50 lost charge fee will be assessed for lost or damaged games or a $1 a day late charge fee for late returns.
