McAllen Resumes Downtown Parking Enforcement

McAllen’s Downtown Parking Services Division has resumed full parking enforcement as of May 1. Enforcement was suspended last spring in efforts to support local businesses, and help keep employees and community safe.

People visiting downtown McAllen should now comply with all parking regulations. Parking enforcement includes city parking meters and off-street parking lots where decal permits are required to park. Parking payments can be made at the meters or via smart phone using the Park Mobile app. Debit and credit cards are also accepted at Smart Meters on Main Street and at the McAllen Parking Garage.

The City of McAllen also encourages visitors to park at the McAllen Parking Garage at 221 South 15th Street, which is open 24 hours, seven days a week to the general public. Rates are $1 for the first hour and $0.50 for each other after and the maximum rate is $5 a day. Overnight parking is permitted.
