Farm Produce Safety Workshop for Veterans

Farm produceFood safety is a critical part of any farm operation. This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to food safety for people who grow produce. It provides important information you need to know in order to safely sell your products. Registration is free and open to military veterans.

  • Receive a complimentary tool kit (digital food thermometer included)
  • Learn about Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
  • Participate in a mock farmers market booth inspection
  • Network with other veterans

Registration includes lunch.

Due to this funding, participant materials are for military veterans/active duty only.  If a veteran/active duty spouse would like to attend and space permits, they are welcome to attend. Registered spouses will be notified of available space (first come first serve) after the registration deadline.  Veteran/active duty spouses will not receive workshop materials. The veteran/active duty military member must be registered and in attendance in order to complete the training.
