OSHA Safety and Health Compliance Assistance (Part 1)
December 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The SBA’s Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office and the Occupational Safety Consultation host a two-part series to learn about the services provided Dec. 2 and Dec. 9. The Dec. 2 will cover “What Texas employers need to know about OSHA.”
The OSHCON program is a free and confidential service available to private sector Texas employers through the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation. OSHCON’s professional safety and health consultants, across the state, are available to help employers understand OSHA rules and identify and eliminate occupation hazards in their workplace.
Using a no-cost consultation service, employers can find out about potential hazards at their worksites, improve their safety and health programs and even qualify for a one-year exemption from routine OSHA inspections. Primarily for smaller businesses, this safety and health consultation program is separate from the OSHA inspection effort. In addition, no citations are issued or penalties proposed.
Discover and learn:
- OSHA mission
- Injury recording and reporting
- OSHA inspection process and regulations
- How does OSHA affect your business
- Employer and employee rights
- Developing a Safety & Health Program
The second session on Dec. 9 will cover “OSHA Safety Program.”
