SUMMARY:Weslaco Museum Saturday Speaker - Lisa Adam
DESCRIPTION:The Weslaco Museum presents Lisa Adam for an encore event on her book “xuai” Oct. 9 at 2 p.m. \nAdam is an anthropologist whose research lead her on a journey to “the whispered and fragmented words” of the ancient Coahuiltecan peoples of south Texas and northern Mexico. With Spanish missions dominating the area\, many of the natives were converted to Christianity. Through those missions\, words were translated from native languages to Spanish. \nAdam has researched and documented some 100 words and phrases from this “lost” language. She will present information about this language during her talk.
