SUMMARY:H-E-B 33rd Feast of Sharing
DESCRIPTION:H-E-B welcomes back its neighbors as it prepares to gather in person and celebrate at its annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinners. Volunteers are currently being sought for the Feast of Sharing in McAllen at the McAllen Convention Center on Nov. 5. \nTwo shifts are available: shift 1 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.; and shift 2 from 12:30-4 p.m. Volunteers must be 16 years of age and older with a limit of 600 volunteers total. Arrive one hour prior to shift for volunteer training. \nRegister online. \nAbout H-E-B Feast of Sharing\nWith this year’s H-E-B Feast of Sharing dinner back in person\, H-E-B\, with the help from its Mobile Kitchens\, will serve traditional Texas-style meals at all its dinner locations in the state. Each event is filled with music\, activities for the family and a variety of free services such as health and wellness screenings and flu vaccinations. Some gatherings even get a visit from Santa. Additionally\, in select cities\, H-E-B Partners (employees) and other volunteers will deliver holiday meals to homebound seniors and others who are unable to attend the event. This year\, H-E-B will launch an H-E-B Feast of Sharing event in Houston\, where it will hold a drive-thru meal distribution with plans to give out more than 20\,000 meals. \nThe H-E-B Feast of Sharing is a series of festive gatherings that include more than 340\,000 meals served during 34 dinners throughout Texas and Mexico. Filled with food\, music\, and good cheer\, these free holiday feasts are open to the public and bring together family\, friends and neighbors. Launched in 1989\, the H-E-B Feast of Sharing gives the company an opportunity to give thanks to its loyal customers and invites everyone to our holiday dinner table. In the more than three decades H-E-B has held the celebrations\, more than 375\,000 volunteers have helped serve nearly four million meals. \nThis initiative is an important part of H-E-B’s Hunger Relief Program\, which works year-round to prevent hunger. Last year\, H-E-B’s Hunger Relief Program donated 34 million pounds of food to families in need. Since 1982\, the year the program was founded\, H-E-B has donated more than 1 billion pounds of food to 5\,500 non-profit organizations in Texas and Mexico.
