Women, service-disabled veterans and minority business owners are invited to attend a vendor fair in Austin, allowing them to network with select state agencies and universities. The Interagency Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Vendor Fair – Marketing for Success takes place April 18 and includes information on vendor opportunities. Attendees may also learn about state business needs while networking with state government procurement staff members.

The vendor fair will offer HUB vendors an opportunity to better understand the purchasing requirements of state agencies, advantages of HUB certification and benefits to building relationships. Additionally, registered participants will have access to workshops which will include Communicating with Your Client, Construction and University Panels, and Environmental Quality.

President of Energize Your Outlook Laura Morales will serve as speaker as she also introduces co-host agencies and HUB coordinators. Morales worked for AT&T and Sprint for 22 years in a variety of positions. These include retention/high growth sales management, support management and marketing, as well as international business development.

Serving as hosts for the day-long business fair are the Office of Attorney General, the Texas General Land Office, the Office of Court Administration, the Railroad Commission of Texas, the Texas State Securities Board and the Texas Department of Agriculture. Also, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, the Texas Historical Commission, the Texas Legislative Council, the Texas Water Development Board and the Texas Workforce Commission.

The Interagency HUB Vendor Fair will take place in the Commons Learning Center at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus of the University of Texas, 10100 Burnet Road in Austin. Both admission and parking are free for registered participants.
