SUMMARY:Quiet Mind Yoga in the Park
DESCRIPTION:Quinta Mazatlán hosts a night of outdoor yoga and meditation in the park with Quiet Mind Yoga on Jan. 19 from 6-7 p.m. \n“Nurture with Nature” focuses on well-being\, mindfulness and a healthy quality of life. The evening includes a beginner friendly yoga flow\, meditation and breath work. Guests should bring a yoga mat or blanket/towel for the grass\, comfortable clothing\, natural insect repellent and a water bottle for the hour session in nature. \nQuinta Mazatlán recommends pre-purchased tickets for $3 each at quintamazatlan.ticketleap.com. \nAbout Quiet Mind Yoga\nQuiet Mind Yoga was founded by Matthew Morales in McAllen. Morales began his journey with yoga over 14 years ago to aid his studies in the arts. It wasn’t until seven years ago that he was lead to fully dedicate himself to the practice. Around that time\, Matthew had begun doing work to look at the patterns and habits of his life.  As he was traveling\, the world in 2016\, he met yoga teachers from the United States\, India\, Australia and more\, inspiring him to pursue yoga as a facilitator. With QMY\, Matthew hopes to help people heal\, and set themselves free through yoga and other modalities. QMY works to build a sense of community by creating experiences and environments for all to feel welcome.

SUMMARY:Make a Fun and Simple Backyard Habitat
DESCRIPTION:Allen Williams\nTransform a portion of your yard into a welcoming place for birds and butterflies this fall. Allen Williams\, landscape habitat specialist at PSJA ISD\, goes over the key components that you need to address to do so on Sept. 22 at Quinta Mazatlan. To help you grow your “edible” garden for wildlife\, the native nursery “Blue Mockingbird” will also be selling native plants to take home. \nWilliams became the first landscape habitat specialist for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD in 2013. His land stewardship career spans over 20 years. Williams is passionate about creating gardens that connect young minds to the wonders of nature. His specialty is butterfly gardens where students can gain first-hand knowledge from an “outdoor living classroom.” \nAny lawn\, large or small can be turned into a wildlife habitat\, because some habitat is better than none.  Adding native plants to a garden will assist in attracting a large variety of birds and butterflies.  Furthermore\, the local wildlife is more familiar with native plants and will put them to good use for food and shelter. At a minimum\, choose plants that are native to your state or country. \nCome early to walk the trails and visit the nature gift store with a new stock of hummingbird feeders\, bird shirts and more. \nTickets are available online at quintamazatlan.ticketleap.com for $3.
