SUMMARY:Diversify Your Workforce Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce hosts its “Diversify Your Workforce!” collaborative workshop with the Disability Chamber of Commerce on Jan.19. The workshop will be catered towards employers who seek talent sources. \nThe workshop will feature a presentation by Evelyn Cano\, president of the Disability Chamber of Commerce RGV. Cano will discuss the benefits of hiring an employee with disabilities as well as the best accommodation practices for them and other related topics. \nEvelyn Cano is a parent\, advocate\, co-founder and president of the Disability Chamber. The Disability Chamber is the fourth cross-disability chamber of commerce in the U.S. and works to promote employment opportunities for people with disabilities. In 2022\, Gov. Abbott appointed Cano to the board of Disability Rights Texas. \nThe workshop is free of charge for Edinburg Chamber members and $20 for non-members. \nEmployers interested in participating must RSVP by calling 956-383-4974 or emailing marketing@edinburg.com.
