The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce recently held its 86th annual awards banquet with more than 150  local business and community leaders in attendance. Receiving recognition were the 2018 Man and Woman of the Year Robert and Janet Vackar of Bert Ogden Auto Group.

“We want to thank the Vackars for their endless efforts not only to the Edinburg community but to the entire Rio Grande Valley,” said Interim Executive Director Ronnie Larralde. “We are proud to call you one of our very own.”

Also receiving honors were incoming President of the Board Jennifer Garza. Garza is currently the vice president of operations for Superior Health Plan. She has been part of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce as a member, volunteer and board member since 2012. Garza also recently received recognition as a Woman of Distinction by the RGV Hispanic Chamber.

The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce also gave recognition to the 2018 Ambassador of the Year Agustin Lozano Jr. of Bert Ogden Auto Group. Additionally, Bay and Thelma Rex of St. Vincent De Paul received the 2018 Leadership Award and Michael Luna the 2018 Edinburg Fireman of the Year recognition.
