DESCRIPTION:Timothy Brush\nQuinta Mazatlan welcomes presenter Timothy Brush on June 1 as he shares what he has learned and is still learning about Valley birds. \nGreen Jays and Clay-colored Thrushes are tropical birds that many birders love to see. While they are often seen at nature centers and refuges\, they are also readily seen in towns and cities around the Rio Grande Valley. Brush has been conducting a bird-banding study of these birds since March 2018 to better understand their lives in our area. Bird banding is a federally regulated process which requires extensive training to ensure the safety of the birds. \nBrush is a retired professor of Biology who taught at UT Rio Grande Valley and has studied Valley birds for more than 30 years. He enjoys sharing what he has learned and is still learning about Valley Birds. \nTickets for this presentation are $3 per person and are available for purchase at quintamazatlan.ticketleap.com.

Valley artists Celerino Castillo and Gaby Rico have created over 75 life-size painted wood PEGS of comic book Superheroes that have been placed along the trails. As you walk the trail you will also see six-foot tall famous comic book covers that will be accompanying the artistic PEGS. The trail will begin with our real-life superheroes and their vehicles stationed up Sabal Palm Drive.   \nGuests can stop by and view the super vehicles\, take photos and get information on the different departments that will be in attendance. Meet our real-life superheroes including McAllen Police Department\, Border Patrol\, McAllen Fire Department\, McAllen Public Utilities\, McAllen Public Works\, Recycling Center and many more.
