The Rio Grande Valley Chapter Texas Master Naturalist will host a volunteer training class for volunteers wanting to learn about natural resource and conservation management. The classes take place Aug. 29 – Oct. 16 at the Cameron County Annex Building.

The mission of the organization is to “develop a corps of well-informed volunteers to provide education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities for the State of Texas.”

Joining this class requires a serious time commitment by all trainees. This concentrated series will require attendance every Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Saturday sessions include every Saturday in September from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and the first two Saturday mornings in October.

The Cameron County Annex Building is located at the corner of Williams Road and Hwy. 77/83 in San Benito. Classes are available only to the first 25 people who register.  The $150 registration fee includes all training materials, scholarships are available.

Registration and more information is available at rgvctmn.org.
