The Texas Workforce Commission and its 28 Texas Workforce Solutions boards host a statewide Careers in Texas Industries Week Sept. 25-30. TWC is seeking business volunteers to inform and educate the state’s future workforce about their respective industry and companies.
The week is for both middle school and high school students. TWC asks for assistance to make events “as big as possible in a way which will address your company’s current and future workforce talent needs.” Promotional opportunties include businesses bringing in professionals talk about their jobs, as well as showcasing internships and other learning opportunities.
While all employers may participate, the following Texas Industry Clusters will be highlighted:
Advanced Technologies & Manufacturing
Aerospace & Defense
Biotechnology & Life Sciences, including Healthcare
Information & Computer Technology
Petroleum Refining & Chemical Products
Transportation & Logistics
Careers in Texas Industries Week is presented in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism and other Tri-Agency partners.
Questions may also be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Businesses may also post internship positions on TWC’s free intern site txinternshipchallenge.com.
