Leadership Edinburg Class Graduates

Leadership Edinburg Class XXX held its graduation celebration recently with friends, family, and staff at Bob’s Steak & Chophouse. The graduates join a group of more than 500 Edinburg citizens who have made their way through the Edinburg Chamber class to encourage a better Edinburg and help make a long-term impact.

“Become servant leaders in your community,” said keynote speaker Ida Acuña-Garza to the graduates. “There are so many opportunities to serve on boards and serve your community. Take all you learn and put it into action.”

Each Leadership Edinburg class selects a project then they work on it together and complete it within one year of the program. Class XXX’s community project came from a contest in conjunction with ECISD high schools. Submissions came from students for ideas for a mural highlighting the city of Edinburg’s initiative to encourage recycling. The mural is now at the City of Edinburg’s recycling center. With the unveiling, the class also made an announcement of $2,500 in scholarships for winning students.

Currently accepting applications for XXXI

The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce LE Steering Committee is now accepting applications for Class XXXI. Leadership Edinburg strives to encourage a better Edinburg through strong leadership skills. These focus on politics, education and quality of life. Graduates of Leadership Edinburg typically continue to apply what they learn and then demonstrate it by showing interest in community involvement. This includes serving on committees and at times, politics.
