South Texas College’s Information Technology Program hosts its IT Career Expo Feb. 22, providing both current and future students the opportunity to learn more about the program.
Information Technology faculty member Angelita Teniente says the expo is not to be missed by those interested in IT careers.
“Students attending this event will benefit greatly as they will get an up close and personal perspective of the many IT opportunities available locally from our IT professionals,” said Teniente. “They will learn what IT degree specializations are available at South Texas College in the cybersecurity, computer networking, and computer specialist areas.”
The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated South Texas College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. Expo attendees have the opportunity to find out more about this recognition. They will also learn how they can pave their way into the IT field.
Some presenters are also available to answer questions about the IT field. These include the Federal Bureau of Investigation and NetSync.
The expo takes place from 9 a.m. – noon at the South Texas College Technology Campus, 3700 W. Military Highway in McAllen.
