The U.S. Small Business Administration has appointed Justin Crossie as the regional administrator for SBA’s Region VI, which includes the Lower Rio Grande Valley District. Crossie now leads 10 district office directors, serving more than 3.8 million small businesses. Offices under his direction are in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Crossie will lead the delivery of SBA’s financial, entrepreneurial development, government contracting and international export initiatives. He will also head up rural and veterans outreach programs to empower small business owners and entrepreneurs to start, grow and expand. He will be based out of the SBA’s district office in New Orleans, La.

“I am pleased to now have ten regional administrators who are in place around the country to help support me and the president as the voice and go-to resource for our nation’s 30 million small businesses,” said SBA Administrator Linda McMahon. “As we move forward into 2019, I look forward to continuing to work closely with each one of them,”

Prior to his appointment, Crossie worked in Louisiana for 10 years as the regional director for U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. He served as a liaison to government, business and civic groups throughout Louisiana’s first congressional district.

Before his tenure with Congressman Scalise, Crossie worked as the Florida and River Parishes Representative for U.S. Senator David Vitter. Among his duties, Crossie managed constituent casework issues for active duty military, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Department of Justice, Federal Communications Commission and the Federal Trade Commission.

Crossie is a graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Ga., as well as Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. He is also a U.S. Marine Corp veteran.
