Creative revitalization good for neighborhoods

Downtown Harlingen and B.U.I.L.D. will host “Preservation & Public Art – Urban Revitalization through Historic Preservation” April 6 at the Reese.

The evening will feature Jeffery Fetzer and Ansen Seale discussing the historic Pearl Brewery Complex in San Antonio and how it is an example of a creative use of resources in revitalizing a neighborhood area into a successful destination with affordable and market rate downtown living, retail spaces, restaurants, public art and green spaces.

Tickets for the event, which runs from 6-8 p.m., are $35 presale, $40 at the door, and dinner.  Proceeds benefit historic preservation and downtown revitalization in the Rio Grande Valley.
