The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley hosts information sessions at its Brownsville and Edinburg campuses to assist those who are considering furthering their education March 3 and March 10, respectively.
Those who attend the annual event can meet with faculty and staff from the more than 50 graduate — master’s, doctoral and certificate — programs UTRGV offers. Prospective students also can get information on admission requirements, financial aid and scholarships. The fairs will have informational presentations and help for students to start their graduate school applications.
Both fairs will be held from 4-7 p.m. with the Brownsville event held March 3 at the Brownsville Campus Gran Salón, and the Edinburg event March 10 at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
Door prizes and two scholarships will be given away at the fairs, said Stephanie Ozuna-Larralde, a graduate student recruiter.
According to Ozuna-Larralde, attendance at the graduate fairs has grown over the years since they started at the legacy institutions. Last year, 500 prospective students attended the fair in Edinburg and about 183 attended in Brownsville.
