Plastic manufacturer brings jobs in Harlingen
International Assembly Inc., a leader in the manufacturing services industry, begins warehousing operations later this month inside the Harlingen Industrial Park. The new location will be at 1309 Industrial Way, creating eight jobs initially for their warehousing operations. The creation of up to 25 positions is projected by fourth quarter of 2017.
In 2018, IAI will commence a plastic injection molding operation and further increase employment and investment.
“Harlingen has many assets that set it apart. Having TSTC in close proximity will make it efficient to fill our workforce training needs. Valley International Airport makes it easy for our customers to travel to our facility; and we will be utilizing FM 509, a designated overweight corridor, which is a direct connection to the Free Trade Bridge Los Indios,” said Robert Katusak, General Manager of IAI. “Also, we are honored by the outstanding support we’ve received from the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation, especially on the permitting side. This represents our first operation in the United States and we couldn’t think of a better place than Harlingen, Texas.”
