Forbes recently examined the 200 largest metropolitan statistical areas in the country and came up with its list of Best Places for Business and Careers. Coming in at 79 and 82, respectively, are Brownsville and McAllen. McAllen ranked second in the Job Growth Rank, while Brownsville ranked sixth.
The ranking of Best Places looks at the 200 largest metropolitan statistical areas in the U.S. and takes into account 12 metrics relating to past and projected job growth, business and living costs, income growth, educational attainment and projected economic growth. Also factored in are crime rates, net migration patterns, and recreational and cultural opportunities. Moddy’s Economy.com provides much of the data.
