Karen R. Peña is the new marketing manager for IBC Bank, a promotion from executive office administrative assistant.
Peña will manage the marketing department, while also promoting IBC Bank throughout the community. She will coordinate all financial literacy events, which serve as a tool to educate both children and adult with financial lessons. In addition, Peña will be the liaison between IBC Bank and nonprofits in Cameron County.
“Karen is a valued member of our team,” said Al Villarreal, IBC Bank-Brownsville CEO and president. “She personifies the IBC Bank ‘We Do More’ philosophy. We couldn’t think of someone better to look after our marketing department.”
Peña joined IBC Bank in 2007 straight out of high school as a part time teller. She worked her way up through the ranks and advanced to senior sales supervisor and finally to marketing manager. In addition, Peña is active with the community as part of her involvement in the IBC Community Development Corporation Board. Here, she has served as president, secretary, project chair and newsletter coordinator.
Peña is currently attending UTRGV working towards a degree in business.
