DESCRIPTION:The National Civics Bee in Brownsville is happening on April 13\, starting at noon at the Brownsville Events Center. Share your support and cheer on finalists as they compete for local acclaim to advance to the state competition and win cash prizes. \nThe Brownsville Civics Bee is one of many pilot National Civics Bee competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. At least 100 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition. Judges will select 20 students to advance to the local live competition: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge. \nStudents will be competing to win cash prizes and be named a Brownsville #NationalCivicsBee champion! More than 400 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition sharing their ideas on how to use civics to solve a problem in our community.
