Jumpstart Career Expo Takes Place Feb. 22

Jumpstart Career ExpoThe McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Workforce Solutions and Texas Workforce Commission host the Jumpstart Career Expo, the largest career expo in South Texas, on Feb. 22.

From 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the McAllen Convention Center, the expo will host more than 200 employers ready to hire on the spot. Employers include Halliburton, BrandSafway, UTRGV, Texas A&M, T-Mobile, Health and Human Services, and more. A complete list of employers and open positions is available online.

Chamber officials state more than 8,500 job opportunities will be open to job seekers in various industries. These include health care, government, construction, hospitality, retail, administrative support and more.

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can expect resume-building assistance, free professional head shots and more to help them find their next career opportunity.

“Jumpstart Career Expo 2023 will also provide free resources to make the hiring process easier and enticing for residents of the Rio Grande Valley,” McAllen Chamber President Josh Mejia said. “We cannot thank the business community enough for its unifying effort to deliver such a unique and accessible project for future employees.”

Jumpstart sponsors include South Texas Health System, McAllen International Airport and Ruby Red Hospitality with supporter Explore McAllen.
