The Adopt-A-Beach Winter Clean-Up takes place Feb. 5 on South Padre Island. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The cleanup begins at 9 a.m. Volunteers are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and bring drinking water and gloves. Turning the tide again beach debris, an Adopt-A-Beach Winter Clean-Up takes place Feb. 5 on South Padre Island. Volunteer registration is open now through the duration of the cleanup. Watch as boats of all sizes cruise by in their holiday finest during the Lighted Boat Parade & Firework Show on the Laguna Madre Dec. 12. Designated viewing areas throughout the route offer free public viewing as the bay sparkles with the light of the boats. Firework show begins at 8 p.m. on the Laguna Madre Bay.
