The International Museum of Art & Science will begin hosting Mysterious Cosmos Family Fun Nights on Nov. 21, providing an immersive educational series for families to explore the wonders of the cosmos. The series takes place monthly until February, featuring hands-on activities, presentations and guided stargazing experiences.
The museum invites patrons to bring a foldable chair, sit back and gaze into the mysteries of space with telescopes provided by UTRGV’s Center of Excellence in STEM Education. Each evening focuses on a different celestial theme:
Wonders of the Solar System
Nov. 21, 6-8 p.m.
Explore our neighboring planets, moons and other objects within the solar system.
- Meteor Marvels
Dec. 19, 6-8 p.m.
Delve into the phenomena of meteors and meteor showers and discover what makes these “shooting stars” remarkable.
- Deep Space Discoveries
Jan. 23, 6-8 p.m.
Venture beyond the solar system to explore distant stars, galaxies and the mysteries of deep space.
- Stars Matter
Feb. 27, 6-8 p.m.
Learn about the formation, life and death of stars, and why they matter in understanding the universe.
