Leadership Mid-Valley is now accepting applications for its Class of XVII to begin in October. The eight-month program seeks to bring together rising professionals with a passion and willingness to use and improve their leadership skills to enrich the quality of life in Weslaco and across the Mid-Valley.

Leadership Mid-Valley participants will gain inside knowledge of the region, a new network of like-minded leaders, and develop an in-depth understanding of the partnerships and complexities of the community. Through monthly sessions participants will learn about the Mid-Valley and its opportunities and challenges. They will also gain valuable education to help enhance their capacity to work for greater communication and understanding of local issues. While learning valuable skills, participants also become further committed to improving the quality of life in the Mid-Valley.

Leadership classes begin in October and conclude in May. Participants meet once a month on the second Thursday. Participants must also attend the Leadership Retreat, held in September, and the graduation in May. Attendance to the initial retreat is mandatory for participants.

Applications for the Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce initiative, along with further information, are available online.
