About the Bee:
The Brownsville Civics Bee is one of six inaugural National Civics Bee competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. More than 400 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition sharing their ideas on how to use civics to solve a problem in our community. Judges selected the top 10 student essays to advance to the final round: a live quiz event that will test student’s civics knowledge.
The National Civics Bee is presented by the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, with support from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
