Quinta Mazatlan welcomes Stephanie Kasper on May 18 to discuss tomato care in South Texas, including seed starting tips, trellis options, disease prevention, and variety recommendations based on four years of trials at UTRGV’s Hub of Prosperity Farm in Edinburg. There will also be a tomato tasting to follow the presentation.

Kasper is a sustainable agriculture researcher and farm manager at UTRGV’s Hub of Prosperity Farm. She’s passionate about all kinds of resilient local food production, especially tomatoes. This will be her ninth tomato growing season and sixth season in the Rio Grande Valley.
