National Civics Bee in Brownsville – Live Local Competition

The National Civics Bee in Brownsville takes place April 22 as finalists compete for local acclaim to advance to the state competition in Austin and win cash prizes.
The Brownsville Civics Bee is one of many pilot National Civics Bee competitions promoted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. At least 100 local middle school students participated in a first-round essay competition. Judges will select 20 students to advance to the local live competition: a live quiz event testing civics knowledge.
Students will be competing to win cash prizes and be named a Brownsville #NationalCivicsBee champion! Each finalist will also receive a certificate.
This event is free and open to the community.
