A new Wendy’s location held its grand opening May 5 in Mercedes with the Mercedes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Development Corporation of Mercedes. The new location is at 8001 E.  Expressway 83 on the northeast corner of Mile 2 E and Expressway 83. 

Highlighting the grand opening celebration were music, prizes, and giveaways. The first 100 dine-in customers were awarded free Wendy’s for a year. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Wendy’s to Mercedes,” said Fred Gonzalez, board president of the Mercedes Area Chamber of Commerce. “The grand opening was a huge success, and we’re excited to see the  positive impact that this new restaurant will have on our local economy.” 

Officials feel the restaurant is poised to become a go-to spot for hungry travelers and locals alike. 

“We are proud to have Wendy’s join the Mercedes business community,” said Melissa Ramirez, executive director of the Development Corporation of Mercedes. “The restaurant will create job opportunities for our  residents and help drive economic growth in our city.” 

The grand opening of the new Wendy’s restaurant is example of Mercedes’s commitment to promoting economic development while also fostering a thriving business community. The  Mercedes Chamber  and the Development Corporation aim to support local businesses while ensuring that the city continues to grow and prosper.
