Nominations for District Small Business Week Awards Open

National Small Business Week AwardsAs part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and community members from all 50 states and U.S. territories.

The nomination deadline for the national awards has closed however, District Office Award nominations are still open. Deadline for submission is 5 p.m. Feb. 18.

For nomination and to receive one of the following local awards, the small business nominee must fit within the category of the award. They must also demonstrate success in business, and complete and submit the nomination package information.

SBA’s Lower Rio Grande Valley District Office is currently seeking nominations in the following categories:

  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Family-Owned Business of the Year
  • Home-Based Business of the Year
  • Minority Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Women Owned Small Business of the Year
  • Rural Owned Small Business of the Year

SBA Form 3315 will be used for all District Office Awards above. All nominees must also complete the SBA Background Form 3300. SBA will not accept incomplete packages. For “team” nominations, a background form is required for each team member. SBA also encourages and accepts self nominations.

The public must submit all district Small Business Week nominations electronically to the U.S. Small Business Administration Lower Rio Grande Valley District’s BOX account. BOX account information is available at sba.gov/nsbw. Upload nominations in one document if possible. Additionally, SBA appreciates attention to the file name. Name the file for the award and the person/business receiving the nomination.
