Edinburg Continues To See Significant Population Growth

Edinburg saw its building and construction permits valuations nearly double in 2021 over the previous year.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city of Edinburg’s population has grown to 102,483 residents as of July 2021. In just one year, Edinburg saw a 2.4 percent population increase and grew by 2,444 people. This is up from 100,039 residents per the July 2020 Census numbers. The data, released in late May 2022, shows that the city’s growth ranks the highest amongst fellow Rio Grande Valley cities.…

First Responders Receive Training in Deaf Culture 

Beginning this week, UTRGV faculty are offering a free, six-week training in American Sign Language to first responders from Brownsville, Edinburg and McAllen at the municipal police departments. Those in the training include police officers, fire fighters, medical first responders and other emergency personnel.
