Port of Brownsville Again Ranks High in Exports

For the eight year in a row, Foreign Trade Zone No. 62 at the Port of Brownsville remains near the top in the nation for the value of exports. The recognition comes from information in the U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones Board’s annual report to Congress. FTZ No. 62 ranks second in the country with more than $4.3 billion in exported goods in 2019. Three New LNG Projects Move Forward

The Port of Brownsville is one step closer to welcoming three new LNG projects with an investment totaling $38.75 billion. The Port of Brownsville once again posted a record year for 2018, moving 11.3 million tons of cargo with operating revenues of more than $24.2 million. That translates into a 6.6-percent increase in cargo along with a 25-percent bump in rail movements. Survey Shows Strong Support for Port of Brownsville

The Port of Brownsville recently conducted its first public opinion survey of port tenants, logistics, stakeholders and other service personnel. The findings revealed that 95 percent of respondents view the port favorably. Additionally, 57 percent of respondents planning to increase their port business activity in the next year.
