The Pharr Economic Development Corporation is helping businesses recover from the COVID-19 crisis. Earlier this month, the members of the Pharr EDC board of directors approved the Pharr CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Support). TWC Awards STC more than $1.3 million

On Jan. 11, South Texas College had a “million-dollar morning” with three Texas Workforce Commission grants totaling more than $1.3 million. The award includes a $249,096 Job and Education for Texas grant, as well as $655,153 to STC’s Healthcare and Social Assistance Consortium. The consortium will create and upgrade 1,167 jobs. The month of May brings with it two deadlines for application for programs offered by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. The Innovation Grant Award and the Business Plan Competition will award up to $10,000 and $7,500, respectively, to attract, retain and encourage launching of business ideas in McAllen.
