Cameron County Parks Receive $1.5 Million

Bejarano-McFarland Memorial Park

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission has approved more than $9.8 million in local park grants to help create and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities. Two grants totaling $1.5 million will be going to Cameron County. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved more than $12.5 million in Local Park Grants statewide to help create and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities. More than $2.6 million goes locally to Cameron and Hidalgo counties and Port Isabel.
