Registration is now open for the 40th annual Causeway Run & Fitness Walk taking place April 13. offering a fitness walk and both 5K and 10K options. All who register will have the unique opportunity to cross over the famous Queen Isabella Causeway.
The event follows the 6.2-mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Community Center, continuing on to the Causeway over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island, where awards and snacks will be provided.
The run begins at 7 a.m. followed by the fitness walk at 7:15 a.m. The participation course, which is not a race, ends at the Padre Balli statue on South Padre Island.
iven to the overall first through third male and female winners as well as first through third place winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. All participants crossing the finish line will receive a medal, while supplies last.
Early bird registration is available prior to March 12 of $35 for the 10K, $30 for 5K, and $25 for both events for students and military with ID. After March 12, registration is $40 for the 10K, $35 for 5K, and $30 for students and military. Register online. T-shirts are guaranteed to all participants who register early.
Pets are not allowed in the run or walk, and shuttle services are provided.
