The City of Pharr kicks off the holiday season and invites the community to Winter Wonderland on Dec. 6 in Downtown Pharr. This evening features a tree lighting, live music, food, holiday activities and more.

The free event takes place from 6-11 p.m. at 118 S. Cage Blvd. The annual Lighting of the Christmas tree will begin at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s entertainment includes performances by local dance teams, Gatos Locos and a headlining performance by cumbia superstar Pee Wee. Activities will include an all-new ice rink, photo ops with classic holiday characters, an Elf on the Shelf giveaway, an artificial snow play area, snow sledding and carnival rides.

“This cherished tradition marks the beginning of the holiday season in the City of Pharr, filling our community with joy and festive spirit,” said Mayor Ambrosio Hernandez. “I can’t wait to share this magical moment with everyone as we come together to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.”
