Dec. 5 Rings in IMAS Holiday Market

IMAS Holiday MarketThe International Museum of Art & Science presents a community Holiday Market Dec. 5. The event helps kick off this year’s annual Christmas Tree Forest.

IMAS Christmas Tree Forest
The festive artist and artisan market takes place from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. near the west entrance and Welcome Pavilion. The community is invited to support these local artists and artisans and then visit the Christmas Tree Forest and museum exhibitions. In addition to the local artists, the McAllen Fire Department, McAllen Public Utility and the McAllen Creative Arts Incubator will have information, take-home holiday themed activities, and a selfie-photo opportunity with the McAllen Fire Truck.

The annual exhibition of trees from the IMAS Guild has been an IMAS tradition for half a century. Participants each year decorate their trees with hand-crafted ornaments and decorations according to a theme. Participants this year include Visionaries of the Blind, McAllen Public Utility, Women Together, The Chaplain Responders Community Service, STC Office of Public Relations, School of Rock and several individuals and families.

Admission is currently $1 for all visitors ages 4 and up. IMAS Members and children ages 0-3 are always free.

The museum offers advanced ticket registration at theimasonline.org to reserve a time for a visit.
