Greatest American Clean-Up April 12

Greatest American Clean-UpKeep McAllen Beautiful hosts its annual Greatest American Clean-Up & Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-off on April 12, inviting the community to help clean up the streets, trails, schools and parks of McAllen.

The event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at McAllen Municipal Park. Volunteers who participate will receive safety vests, gloves, trash bags and a free t-shirt, and then be assigned a designated area to pick up litter. KMB is encouraging volunteers to transport themselves to assigned areas. Once volunteers complete their cleanup and return to the park, they will be treated to hot dogs, soda, games and various raffle prizes.

Volunteers come from all walks of life such as students, business leaders, civic and non-profit organizations, individuals, families, community and religious groups, sororities, fraternities, sports teams and the military.

The Don’t mess with Texas Trash-Off is the single largest one-day cleanup event in the state and serves as Texas’s signature event for the Greatest American Cleanup, the nation’s largest community improvement program implemented by Keep America Beautiful.
