IBC Bank McAllen is partnering, once again with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center for its 2022 Strut for the Cure fashion show. The fundraising extravaganza takes place Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Ballroom in McAllen.
“IBC Bank has been a proud supporter of MD Anderson for many years and encourages the communities we serve to become MD Anderson supporters as well” said Edna Posada, IBC Bank-McAllen board director and chairwoman for this year’s fundraiser. “As an additional commitment to this cause, The IBC Foundation will match all sponsorships and donations, dollar for dollar.”
IBC Bank-McAllen CEO Adrian Villarreal added, “We are so grateful to Edna Posada and her hardworking committee’s diligence to make this event a success. They know how important this cause is to our community and that, together, we can make a difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer.”
Cancer survivor Jackie Rodriguez will serve as IBC Bank’s campaign ambassador and will be a special guest at the event. Now 27, Jackie was diagnosed with osteochondroma-associated dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma, a type of bone cancer, in 2015 at the age of 21.
A recent graduate of University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Rodriguez will grace the 2022 fundraiser as a cancer survivor and a testament to MD Anderson research and treatment.
