The International Museum of Art & Science hosts its annual Holiday Market at the Museum on Dec. 9 with an array of local artisans, a gallery talk from a guest curator, Gingerbread Challenge workshops and the annual Christmas Tree Forest community exhibition.
IMAS says the Holiday Market at the Museum will be a haven for both art enthusiasts and holiday lovers. Admission is included with a discounted general admission price of $1 and is free for IMAS members.

Attendees will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from the Guest Curator of the exhibition, “Natural Expressions: Collected Landscapes from the IMAS Vault,” starting at 2 p.m. Celebrating visual artists who observed the natural scenes and creatively recorded what they saw, this intimate gallery talk with guest curator Mary Nettie Rodriguez invites guests to explore the beauty of vivid scenes and delve deeper into these works of art.
Patrons may participate in the Gingerbread House Challenge, building and decorating a house using graham crackers, frosting and candy. Three workshops will be available on Dec. 9, with times at 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Advance registration is available online or at the door (limited tickets). Lastly, market goers can take in the community exhibition Christmas Tree Forest organized by the IMAS Guild. This year’s theme, “Christmas Dreams,” showcases the creativity and the ingenuity of the community from preschoolers through adult groups. The Christmas Tree Forest exhibition will be on display at IMAS from Dec. 1 through Jan. 7.
IMAS Members can also get exclusive access to the museum after hours on Dec. 8 for Winter Members’ Night from 5-7 p.m. when the museum opens just for IMAS members.
