Leadership Edinburg Class XXXIV will host a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser “Derby at the Depot” on May 6, transporting guests to the world-famous horse race.
Organizers say the event promises to be an exciting and entertaining afternoon. The fundraiser will feature a live screening of the Kentucky Derby, along with a silent auction, raffle and live music. Food and drinks, including traditional Mint Juleps, are on the menu.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in their finest Derby attire, with prizes being awarded for the best-dressed male and female.
The event takes place from 2:30-6 p.m. at the Historic Edinburg Chamber Depot, 602 W. University Drive. The fundraiser benefits Leadership Edinburg’s fundraising efforts to beautify and restore the façade of the American Legion Post 408 for veterans.
“The Legion offers services and programs to help members and their families during times of need with health, insurance and well-being,” said Carlos Garza, Leadership Edinburg’s Class co-liaisons. “We invite everyone to join us for an afternoon of fun, while also supporting a worthy cause.”
Tickets are available now and can be purchased for $75 per person or $100 per couple. Sponsorship opportunities are also available with all proceeds going towards the restoration and beautification of the American Legion Post 408.
