With Halloween around the corner, Quinta Mazatlán is now hosting the Sticks & Bones Trail to show the not-so-spooky side of skeletons. The family-friendly outdoor educational exhibit of more than 30 skeletal installations teaches about bones through signage, trail exhibits and scavenger hunt sheets.
The trail begins with health tips on ways to strengthen bones. Upon entering the Thornforest, guest may meet the Invertebrates with a Spiderman Skeleton photo opportunity before heading down the trail to meet the the five vertebrate families featuring reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish and birds. Star skeletons pave the way in the likes of Willie Nelson, Jack Skellington, the Hocus Pocus Sanderson Sisters, Waldo, Batman and more.
The event also includes a larger-than-life calavera sculpture, “She’s Smiling,” from artist Rene Lopez and the “Butterfly Lady” by artist Cele Castillo. Photo opportunities include the Pumpkin Wall and the Hay Bales Corner.
The Sticks & Bones Trail is open through Nov. 12 during Quinta Mazatlán park hours.
