Mario Lizcano, administrator of Corporate Affairs at DHR Health, is the new president of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Lizcano’s term began on Oct. 1 with him succeeding Michael Williamson, current executive vice president of commercial lending at Texas National Bank.

Lizcano’s service to the chamber includes being a Chamber Ambassador beginning in 2007 and serving on the board 2015.

Lizcano currently serves on the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He previously served as the president for the Rio Grande Valley Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association (representing fire departments from Brownsville to Zapata) for six years. Lizcano was a certified emergency medical technician through the Texas Department of Health and serves as an instructor for the Texas Extension Service from Texas A&M Fire Schools.

In 2021, Lizcano was named the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year and inducted into the Rio Grande Valley Hall of Fame.
