TSC To Offer Associate Degree in Nursing

nursingThe Texas Board of Nursing unanimously granted Texas Southmost College initial approval to establish a new Associate Degree Nursing education program. The program will begin with the upcoming fall semester.

“The re-opening of TSC’s ADN program was one of the priorities of the college and the board of trustees, and we’re excited to have achieved it,” said TSC Board of Trustees Chair Adela Garza. “TSC’s nursing program has a long history and tradition at the college and within our community, and we’ve brought it back home.”

TSC’s ADN program will re-open with a maximum cohort of 24 students in August for the fall 2019 semester. It will accept another cohort of 24 students for spring 2020. The nursing program will begin to accept applications for fall 2019 in March. The application deadline for fall 2019 is May 25.

“Re-opening the nursing program is a great moment for the college,” said Trey Mendez, Vice Chairman of the TSC Board of Trustees. “For years, allied health has been a rewarding career path for our students and I look forward to them having this option again.”
