Arya Singh is UTRGV’s new assistant vice president for research analytics. He has 15 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, data management and data governance, focusing on technology service management.
As AVP for research analytics, Singh will play a vital role in leading the development, management and maintenance of solutions to capture, store and analyze data for institutional research metrics and key performance indicators.
Singh joins UTRGV from The University of Texas San Antonio, where he most recently served as senior director for Research Computing and Business Intelligence for Research Enterprise. He has also held positions at Texas State University and Dell Inc.
Can (John) Saygin, senior vice president for Research at UTRGV and dean of the Graduate College, said Singh is filling a critical leadership position that provide strategic oversight and guidance to UTRGV’s research enterprise, including graduate programs.
“Singh will serve as a key member of the Division of Research leadership team, and will work in partnership with academic and administrative units to improve operational excellence across UTRGV,” Saygin said.
Singh has led high-performing teams in technology – specializing in data delivery innovation – using automation and orchestration to lower operational costs, while still delivering optimal customer service.
In his new role, Singh will coordinate business workflows via information systems to build collaboration, transparency and business knowledge sharing for operational excellence.
“My objective is to be an integral part of the expansion, development and excitement of a research enterprise at UTRGV by utilization of technology solutions to improve business processes and workflow orchestration of research administration operations with carrier-class scalability and reliability,” Singh said.
