Beautiful Valley Plants

The RGV is full of diverse plant communities, from coastal prairies to dense thorn forest, filled with plant species large and small. Join John Brush at Quinta Mazatlán on Oct. 3 to learn about the characteristics of these habitats, including common plants and rare plants found within.
Brush is the urban ecologist at Quinta Mazatlán, City of McAllen. Some of his plant-focused duties include implementing habitat creation projects, developing and delivering native plant focused workshops and events, and managing the park’s nascent native plant nursery. Brush received his Masters of Science in Biology from UT Rio Grande Valley. He enjoys sharing his appreciation for Rio Grande Valley plants with others and gardening.
The program is free with general park admission.
