On Sept. 28, Quinta Mazatlán hosts Texas Master Naturalist Robert Gaitan speaks on “Stewards of the Wild Side: Replacing Your Yard with A Habitat.” As part of the Thursday Night Speaker Series, Gaitan speaks on the importance of a unified public and how the survival of our native flora and fauna depends on our efforts to become “Stewards of the Wild.”

Gaitan joined the Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalist Program in 2014. Leaving his successful technical career behind, he ventured on a journey to discover the uniqueness of his backyard and the peril of our native species and native habitat. Today, Gaitan seeks to educate the public on the natural treasures of the region and promote public support for conservation projects and activities.
